Thom Yorke Performs New Radiohead Track “Give Up The Ghost”
He played some new tunes a few months back, and he played one of those new ones again. No one knows when the new album will be out, but the band was in the studio last winter working on it, and at any point they could post it online for free like they did in 2007 with In Rainbows. Hopefully it’s just a matter of weeks before we get our fix. Anyway, here’s a video of Yorke playing a surprise live show with the track.
Spike Jonze’s “I’m Here” & Soundtrack
Spike Jonze made a little short film about robots and love. You can watch it here. (When entering your date, just put the “050519″, because I’m over 21 and it was still acting up). But anyway, to accompany the film, Jonze compiled some old, classic indie songs and some new ones as well. Featuring Sleigh Bells, Animal Collective, and Girls, it’s pretty solid.
I’m Here Soundtrack:
01 The Lost Trees and ASKA: “There Are Many of Us”
02 Gui Boratto: “Beautiful Life”
03 Sleigh Bells: “A/B Machines”
04 The Lost Trees: “The Past Is a Grotesque Animal”
05 Animal Collective: “Did You See the Words”
06 Girls: “Hellhole Ratrace”
07 Sam Spiegel: “There Are Many of Us” (Electric Dream Version)
08 Sam Spiegel: “Lonesome Robot Theme”
09 ASKA: “Y.O.U.”
Two New No Age Tracks “Glitter” & “Inflorenscence”
With their new album coming out September 28th, No Age is beefing up the hype for it. Everything In Between is the full length follow up to their astoundingly good 2008 album Nouns. There are quite high expectations, and in my opinion, these tracks totally deliver. They’ve got the track below “Glitter” coming out in single form with B-sides “In Rebound” and “Vision II”. The 12″ will feature the other track streaming, “Inflorescence”. They’re definitely No Age songs.

New Jimmy Eat World Track “My Best Theory”
Jimmy Eat World stole my middle school heart when Bleed American in 2001. It was rock filled, and straight alternative. Their last album Chase This Light, not so much. If anything it totally capitalized on the emo movement of bands like Good Charlotte, Simple Plan and the like. However, their upcoming album dubiously titled Invented as it seems they have regained the sound that got them where they are now is coming out on September 28th. It looks like they’re back to their old ways. Check the track, track listing for the new album and tour dates below.

Weezer-Hurley Album Cover
They must really like LOST and/or take their album name very seriously.
In an e-mail interview, Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo told us the rationale behind the sleeve: “We just wanted to use that picture of Jorge Garcia’s face on the cover. It’s such an amazing album cover, and we didn’t want to have any other words on it, so we just figured everyone was going to call it Hurley, so that’s what we call it.” via P4K
Animal Collective ODDSAC Tracks
Animal Collective’s ridiculous acid-trip of a movie comes out tomorrow on DVD, if you ordered it, you may have gotten it today. But here are two tracks from the movie that got released as well. “Screens” and “Mr. Fingers”. They’re very experimental and more soundtrack based, but I can dig them.

Local Natives & Yours Truly Save the Day
Exhibit A: Local Natives and Yours Truly.
During a shoot with Yours Truly & Pitchfork, a girl in the vicinity of the video shoot was robbed. The crew and band heard the calls of distress and jumped into action. Read the full story at Strangers in Stereo. The video is below.
Halfway through the first take of “Airplanes,” the piercing sound of female screaming reached our ears from the sidewalk below the railroad tracks. There was a scuffle, at first I thought it was just kids fighting, but when I heard the girl scream, “NO, STOP!” I just took off running. Team YT does not tolerate crime, ESPECIALLY in the middle of a take, so we did what any average citizen would do and chased that motherfucker down. Luckily, he was slow, and not very smart, so we caught him, and received a hero’s welcome from our Local homies. The best part of the whole thing, our reward so to speak, was hearing them play “Airplanes.”
Skream & La Roux “Finally”
Skream’s new album came out today. Yes, the mighty dubstep legend finally put out his second album. Outside the Box features a bunch of guest appearances, this one which was just posted today, features Elly Jackson of La Roux. It takes a different pace for her, as it’s a bit darker. It’s pretty awesome though. I plan on getting my hands on Outside the Box ASAP.

Remixes of VW & BSS
Basement Jaxx put together this tropical sounding remix of Vampire Weekend’s latest single “White Sky”. It’s not my favorite track off the record, but this upbeat tempo and warm sounding version makes it danceable and fun. Here’s the link.
On the other hand, Broken Social Scene is putting together a remix series of their track “All to All”. So this is just the first of many remixes of the track to come. Up first is Sebastien Grainger, from Death From Above 1979. Be ready for more of these to come.
